I've just updated the ESL Independent Study Lab, which now
includes over 225 high quality resources for ESL/EFL learners. The Lab is
organized by language ability and includes resources for listening, reading,
writing, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, TOEFL, and fun & games (all
educational). All links have been checked for accuracy. Your students are also
invited to follow the "Interact" links, which are written extension activities
for some of the Web sites in the Lab. The writing is submitted to me via email

Questique Questique is a strategy
crossword board game that can be played in a home, school or further educational
environment. It is rare amongst skill based games, in that it is suitable for
children, families and adults; play being possible from elementary to advanced
levels. A simple handicapping system allows players of mixed abilities to all
play together and each stand a good chance of winning. This could even be for
example, a highly educated language teacher and a below average ability child of
eight! It is an excellent language teaching aid. This is specifically in
relation to spelling, word appreciation and development. The game includes many
options, one being "fast play"; ideal for active minds and impatient players of
all ages --- no need for an egg timer here to keep the game moving! Questique
can be played solo or by up to four players.
